Yags 0.7.1 is released, which includes updates for characters with an academic background and a new set of training rules.
This is a new update to Yags character generation rules, adding some tweaks to attribute costs and also adding in a Skilled option for character types, to allow for mundane characters with a large skill set. This is mostly of use where a lot of the characters come from an academic background, and will have a large set of skills but not necessarily be anything special as far as anything else is concerned.
Also added are a new set of rules for training and gaining experience. This has always been a bit of a bugbear, since I don't particularly like the standard way of handling experience (gain X experience per session), and prefer slower more realistic systems based around training. The latter are hard to do well however. 0.7.1 includes a draft attempt at this.
Finally, there have been a few tweaks for skills, techniques and advantages. Also, an attribute of 2 now only gives back 1 point (rather than 2), which makes life harder for mundane characters.
